The "Ensnared" Series is a new exploration of work investigation tension from the "self". These pieces, made of steel, are curled in and around themselves. Cotton thread is crocheted onto the steel, beginning with tracing the edges and then connecting to itself across space, creating visual tension and the feel of the steel "pulling" away from itself, struggling against the thread. 
 
These pieces can be set on a surface in any orientation or can be hung with hardware (included with purchase) that consists of a magnet and loop and at least six feet of 15 pound fishing line. The magnet allows the piece to be hung from any point on the piece so that it may be viewed in different orientations, each providing a new experience of the piece.
